I was wondering if I need to create a special capture setup for this since it isn't anamorphic, it's native 16:9. Anyone know?

Thu, July 23, 2009 - 9:44 PMahh but not for hd footage, I'm talking dv 16:9 footage. i can capture just fine, but I am thinking that capturing natice 16:9 should be done differently then capturing anamorphic in camera effect 16:9 for quality issues, no?

HD: 1440 x 1080; Approx. 1.56 Megapixels
SD (4:3): 1080 x 1080; Approx. 1.17 Megapixels
SD (16:9): 1440 x 1080; Approx. 1.56 Megapixels
wtf then should i be capturing my sd in 1440x1080 ?! -

appreciate the opportunity to assist you with transferring video from
the XH A1 camcorder to your computer.
You are correct. The resolution should be set to 1440x1080 for 16:9 SD
video. Anamorphic capture would stretch the image, so you would not
want this setting enabled. Also, verify that the frame per second
option is set to 27.97. If it is set to 30, then frames would be
skipped.

1440x1080, if not anamorphically stretched, would be 4:3. A 16:9 image would be letterboxed inside it, right?
What's the deal? -
